Editor & newsletter lead
Writes and schedules the weekly newsletter, reviews sponsor copy against house style, and confirms Riverside Notice bookings.
We report on Verdun, Nuns' Island, LaSalle, Côte-Saint-Paul and the Aqueduct path, and we keep a short list of sponsor placements open for the businesses and groups that share that ground with us.
Ravelmere started as a weekly newsletter covering Verdun council meetings and neighbourhood events, and added a companion podcast a few years later once we had enough on-the-ground reporting to fill a weekly episode. We are operated by STINGRAY RADIO INC., a company that also publishes other local titles, but Ravelmere's newsroom, hosts and editorial decisions are its own — nothing we cover along the southwest shore is directed from elsewhere.
We publish one newsletter edition and one podcast episode per week. Advertising placements — the three described on our advertising page — are how we fund that schedule alongside subscriptions, and they are kept separate from the reporting itself.
Most weeks start the same way: a reporter checks in with a borough councillor or a business owner, a producer books studio time for the podcast, and the newsletter editor drafts the week's top items well before Thursday morning. It is a small, steady rhythm rather than a large operation, which is part of why our advertising offer stays fixed at three formats instead of expanding into a longer menu.
Alongside our regular coverage, we sell a small, fixed set of advertising placements rather than an open-ended menu — a newsletter mention, a set of podcast reads, or a longer cross-channel partnership.
A two-edition newsletter line.
Four host-read episode mentions.
A six-week cross-channel run.
Our newsroom sits at 730 Rue Wellington, Montréal, QC H3C 1T4. Our coverage area is Verdun and the southwest shore — Verdun, Nuns' Island, LaSalle, Côte-Saint-Paul and the Aqueduct path — and that is also where our sponsor placements are read and heard.

Covers council, community and business news across Verdun, Nuns' Island, LaSalle and Côte-Saint-Paul, independent of the advertising side.
Every booking is confirmed against a specific edition or episode date before we start production.
Sponsor wording is checked against our house style before it goes near a reader or listener.
One person coordinates your placement from enquiry through to the closing report, so questions have a single point of contact.
These three habits are the same whether you are booking a single Riverside Notice edition or a full six-week partnership: a confirmed schedule, a checked line of copy, and one named person you can reach with a follow-up question.
